This is one of the freshwater grow tanks for plants at the shop. We have several species of plants in this tank atm, however once the other plant tanks are ready, we will most likely keep 3-5 species of plants per tank. This tank does have livestock, currently we have 6 German Blue Rams (We will be breeding these) as well as 2 Zebra Loaches. Suspended above the tank is a 30W 6000-7000K LED

Reduce NOx (nitrogen oxide, nitrogen dioxide) emissions from ship's engines with NOxCare® Marine. NOxCare Marine is a complete portfolio of reagents, Selective Catalytic Reduction technology (SCR) technology and services. Marine NOx Regulations NOx emissions from shipping are increasingly regulated in NECAs (NOx Emission Control Areas). From 2016, new IMO Tier III requirements will require new builds to comply with NOx emission requirements in territorial waters. Canadian authorities and the United-States Environment Protection Agency (EPA) is already implementing a North American and U.S. Carribean NECA imposing stringent NOx emission limits. Other NECAs are bound to follow, as IMO regulations will be adopted around the globe. Yara's NOxCare Marine is the total solution for ship own...

Most modern ships use a reciprocating diesel engine as their prime mover, due to their operating simplicity, robustness and fuel economy compared to most other prime mover mechanisms. The rotating crankshaft can be directly coupled to the propeller with slow speed engines, via a reduction gearbox for medium and high speed engines, or via an alternator and electric motor in diesel-electric vessels. The rotation of the crankshaft is connected to the camshaft or a hydraulic pump on an intelligent diesel. The reciprocating marine diesel engine first came into use in 1903 when the diesel electric rivertanker Vandal was put into service by Branobel. Diesel engines soon offered greater efficiency than the steam turbine.
This has been around for a while. The best guesses I have it that it was in a refinery. The PPE looks like HRC 2 UltraSoft or BanWear. One website says it was in a Peruvian Refinery. Another claims it is from an Exxon Mobil facility. From what I can see it is the right PPE and the workers look fairly protected.
The Kenya Maritime Authority has inspected and certified the first locally manufactured luxury boat in Mombasa County. The 42-foot long and five-meter wide boat, built by Mark Jennings assisted by local technicians and craftsmen that is christened ‘Tintin Tu’ Mombasa has a capacity of 12 passengers and two crew members. Stakeholders have welcomed “Tintin Tu” noting that its successful building will inspire more to venture into boat making.
Pemphis is a genus of maritime plants in family Lythraceae. It was recently thought have only one species (the type species, described in 1775, Pemphis acidula ) but is now believed to have at least two. Pemphis acidula, bonsai Pemphis are highly adaptive. Depending on environmental factors, they are densely branched, or low and spreading bushes or short trees, with main stems that can be furcated and lie nearly prone, or develop into one erect trunk. Leaves can be small, fleshy and succulent, or larger, flat and not fleshy. All surfaces are covered generally in silky, colorless trichomes. The fruits and bee-pollinated flowers are produced throughout the year. Seeds can float, and are sometimes propagated through water dispersal.
I'm making a best guess on labeling this a maritime earwig (Anisolabis maritima). If you have a better knowledge of this, I'd love to make a more certain identification.

Amazing Underwater Marine Life Enjoy this relaxing underwater video from the philippines. Most of the time the ocean appears to be blue because this is the color our eyes see. But the ocean can be many other colors depending upon particles in the water, the depth of the water, and the amount of skylight. The colors we see depend upon the reflection of the visible wavelengths of light to our eyes. Wavelengths of light pass through matter differently depending on the material's composition. Blue wavelengths are transmitted to greater depths of the ocean, while red wavelengths are absorbed quickly. Water molecules scatter blue wavelengths by absorbing the light waves, and then rapidly reemitting the light waves in different directions. That is why there are mostly blue wavelengths that are re...
